For a final goodbye to summer please join GSSC on the beach at Semiahmoo Park for a low tide walk to celebrate Whatcom Water Week. Whatcom Water Week is an annual event to celebrate the water resources of Whatcom County. GSSC is providing an opportunity to explore a local beach giving a special look at our local aquaculture resources such as clams, oysters, and seaweed.
Visit Whatcom Water Week for more events occurring between September 13th and September 21st to celebrate our counties resources!
To register please email our program (vmiller.salishsea@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance so we know how many people to expect and if we should wait before wandering down the beach.
Your feet might get wet so wear some shoes that can take it and won’t get to slippery on the seaweed and wet rocks.
We will provide some garden gloves if you’d like to keep your hands clean.
We will be bringing some marine life ID guides to help identify species while we are on the beach.
